“Stop the Bleed" is meant to empower individuals to act quickly to save lives. A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within five minutes, making the bystander an important part of the life-saving process when emergency responders are on their way.  Bleeding Control for the Injured (B-Con) teaches participants the basic life-saving medical interventions, including bleeding control with a tourniquet, bleeding control with gauze packs or topical hemostatic agents, and opening an airway to allow a casualty to breathe. This course is designed for civilians requiring the basic training, while keeping in mind their non-medical background. Just like CPR training, a civilian familiar with basic bleeding control techniques is better equipped to save a life. More information about “Stop the Bleed” can be found at
