Course Description: The program will present evidence-based, practical, clinical approach to the assessment, management and risk communication strategies for Veterans who believe they may be at risk to develop or currently have Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy as a result of combat-related exposures or injuries, including repetitive traumatic brain Injury or blast. A review of CTE literature, blast and mild TBI, an update of  VA, DoD, and academic multicenter, longitudinal studies of individuals with exposures to one or more concussions and blasts, a rational approach to diagnostic testing, a comprehensive, clinical practice guideline-directed management strategy, and recommendations on risk communication techniques for patients, caregivers and clinicians.
